What is TikTok's 'have a peek at my girlfriend' trend? Viral connection trend explained

People are flocking to TikTok ahead of Valentine's Day, the most romantic day of the year, to share a very charming relationship trend.

The 'have a look at my girlfriend' trend is quite popular; the videos have received over 27 million views on the platform.

It's the most recent in a long line of social media relationship trends, which include the loyalty test, the ketchup theory, the orange peel theory.

The trend is exactly what it sounds like: people flaunt off their other half.

The films normally start with people exhibiting a photo of their lover, either a physical photo from their wallet or a digital shot on their phone screen.

This photo is shown close to the camera, and when it is moved away from the camera, their companion is revealed in person.

People are not only exhibiting their girlfriends, but also their boyfriends.

The soundtrack for all of the videos is the Gym Class Heroes' song 'Cupid's Chokehold,' which includes the lyrics "Take a look at my girlfriend, she's the only one I have."

Many people are participating in this trend, including users of all ages.

Everyone appears to want to proclaim how much they love their other half right now, and the wonderful music is helping them do so.
