Tim McGraw Devotes Emotional "Live Like You Were Dying" Performance To Toby Keith

Tim McGraw paid tribute to his late friend and country music colleague Toby Keith at a Florida event last week.

McGraw interrupted his February 8 Hard Rock Live at Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood in Davie performance to dedicate a song to Keith, who died of cancer a few days before.

“Toby and I became close early in our careers. We hung out on the bus often. Together, played shows...” McGraw began.

Very talented, and I always liked his method of doing things without caring what others thought.

”If I fail, please be patient. Please assist me, he urged the gathering, clearly choked. But I want to dedicate this song to Toby and his family.”

The audience cheered when the band started “Live Like You Were Dying.”

McGraw, temporarily unable to sing, held his microphone to the crowd and let them lead the 2015 hit's first part.

We released our self-titled debuts on April 20, 1993.

McGraw noted, "Toby and I spent a lot of time together early in our careers."

We had many fun times and talked about our work and lives. A maverick. True artist, he did things his way.
