Shortly after winning three Grammys, rapper Killer Mike was imprisoned. 

Killer Mike, also known as Michael Render, was detained on a misdemeanor charge shortly after winning three Grammys on Sunday night.

Police arrested and restrained Render shortly after 4:00 p.m. PT. He was arrested by the police in connection with an alleged physical altercation

that occurred in the 700 block of Chick Hearn Court, one of the streets immediately adjacent to the Grammy-hosting arena.

Render was acquitted and transported to the Central Division. 

Regarding misdemeanor battery, he was detained. 

Sunday evening, authorities announced that Render was en route to being released. 

An artist representative did not respond to an ABC News request for comment at this time. 

Killer Mike was awarded the Grammy for best rap album for "Michael," as well as for best rap performance and composition for "Scientists & Engineers."
