Prince William attends the BAFTAs solo while Princess Kate continues to recover following surgery

Prince William attended the 2024 British Academy Film Awards solo, as Princess Kate recovers from surgery.

The Prince of Wales arrived at the Royal Festival Hall in London for the BAFTAs without Princess Kate.

Princess Kate underwent planned abdominal surgery in January, necessitating her absence from the event.

William was seated next to Cate Blanchett and was photographed shaking hands with David Beckham.

In a video published by the Daily Mail, William mentioned he has seen fewer films this year due to other priorities but hopes to catch up on the nominees.

Prince William serves as president of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA), which hosts the awards.

"Oppenheimer" won the best film award at the 2024 BAFTAs, with other nominees including "Anatomy of a Fall" and "Killers of the Flower Moon."

In previous years, William has both attended and skipped the BAFTAs, notably missing in 2021 after the death of his grandfather, Prince Philip.
