Patrick Mahomes sets the record right for Chiefs critics after Super Bowl repeat.

Throughout the regular season, fans wondered what was wrong with the Kansas City Chiefs.

They won their division, but all of the data point to a disappointing season by their standards.

Patrick Mahomes passed for the second fewest yards in a season, Travis Kelce failed to reach 1,000 yards for the first time since 2015, and receivers were missing passes left and right.

Something clicked in the playoffs, and the Chiefs are celebrating their third Super Bowl win in five years, effectively establishing a dynasty.

Kansas City met the Miami Dolphins in subzero weather in the wild card round and won, 26-7, which was not surprising.

However, they were road underdogs in their next two games against the Buffalo Bills and the top-seeded Baltimore Ravens. They won both of these games.

They were also betting underdogs in the Super Bowl, with odds closing around 1.5 in favor of the San Francisco 49ers.

Given their troubles during the regular season, the Chiefs have emphasized their battles against adversity throughout the playoffs.

With three straight wins as underdogs to win the Super Bowl, Mahomes was candid in his postgame celebration.

"Just know that The Kansas City Chiefs are never underdogs," he went on to say. "Just know that."
