Mark Ruffalo Won't Be in 'Captain America: Brave New World'; Actor Misspoke About Hulk Return During Festival Q&A (EXCLUSIVE).

During a Q&A session at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival on Sunday.

Hulk in Marvel's "Captain America: Brave New World." When asked by moderator Anne Thompson if he would next appear in the 2025 film, Ruffalo nodded and responded, "Yeah."

"Are you allowed to talk about that?" Thompson asked."Yeah," Ruffalo replied. "It's going to be great!"

However, according to various sources, Ruffalo will not appear in "Brave New World.

 Instead, he misspoke, believing he was saying that "Brave New World" was one of Marvel's upcoming projects, not that he would appear in it.

Nonetheless, Ruffalo's one-word response went viral on social media on Monday, especially since it played into widespread fan expectations that Harrison Ford.

Thaddeus "Thunderbolt" Ross in the film opposite Anthony Mackie's titular superhero, would also transform into Ross' comic book alter ego, Red Hulk. 

(Marvel has not acknowledged that plot development, and when asked in June 2023 if he would become the crimson rage monster, Ford replied, "What is Red Hulk?")
