Kevin Costner Selects Director for His Upcoming "Amazing Longtime Passion Project" Film

Kevin Costner, 69, is set to star in and produce an upcoming feature film based on a script he owns, with Ariel Vromen directing.

The plot of the film remains undisclosed, and production is slated to commence in 2025.

Vromen previously directed Costner in the 2016 thriller Criminal, alongside Gary Oldman and Tommy Lee Jones.

Costner expressed excitement about reuniting with Vromen for this project, which he described as a longtime passion.

In addition to this new film, Costner has been involved in the multi-part Western Horizon: An American Saga, set to premiere in June and August.

Costner's commitments to Horizon led to a reduced presence on Yellowstone, the acclaimed series where he starred as rancher John Dutton.

The second half of Yellowstone's fifth season, announced as its final installment, is scheduled for release in November.

Costner's involvement in both Yellowstone and Horizon emerged during his divorce proceedings with ex-wife Christine in 2023.
