Jon Stewart alleges that Apple TV+ canceled his show because he said things that could get him in trouble. Meme

Before returning to Comedy Central's "The Daily Show," Jon Stewart told "CBS Mornings" why he was leaving.

Stewart hosted the network's flagship news show from 1999-2015.

Only Monday programs will air during the 2024 election cycle.

Due to Apple's cancellation of his talk program last year, Stewart had no platform to discuss the election.

"I wanted a place to unload thoughts as we get into this election season," he added.

I considered doing it again at Apple TV+. Small television enclave. Like living in Malibu.

They deemed it inappropriate for me to say things that could lead to trouble.

Stewart launched "The Problem With Jon Stewart," his Apple streaming series, in 2021 as part of a multi-year first-look arrangement.

The first season showed episodes every two weeks; the second was weekly.

Stewart explored one topic per episode in "The Problem".
