Jay-Z lashes out Grammys for snubbing Beyoncé: 'We want y'all to get it right'

Jay-Z won the Dr. Dre Global Impact Award at the 2024 Grammys on Sunday, and he used his acceptance speech to criticize the Recording Academy's treatment of his wife, Beyoncé.

Jay-Z took the stage with his oldest daughter, Blue Ivy, 12, during the award event at the Crypto Arena in Los Angeles, while Beyoncé watched from the audience.

"We adore you all. "We want you guys to get it right," he continued. "I don't want to embarrass this young girl,

but she has the most Grammys of anyone and has never won Album of the Year. So even by your own standards, that does not work."

Beyoncé became the most awarded artist in Grammy history last year, receiving her 32nd trophy. However, the show garnered criticism because she did not win album of the year. That honor went to Harry Styles.

"Think about it. "Most Grammys have never won album of the year," Jay-Z noted on Sunday. "Some of you may be robbed." Some of you do not belong in this category. When I feel nervous, I say the truth."

Beyonce has received four album of the year nominations: "Renaissance," "Lemonade," "Beyoncé," and "I Am... Sasha Fierce."

"Just in life, you got to keep showing up until they give you all those accolades you think you deserve," he went on to say.
