The clock may be ticking for Outlander on television, but the story is eternal for popular novelist Diana Gabaldon, 

who wrote the books (nine in total) on which the show is based. The first Outlander novel, published in 1991,

produced multiple sequels, offshoot novellas, and, finally, the tremendous drama that fans have come to enjoy.

With the final two seasons on the way and the spinoff series Blood of My Blood in the works, Gabaldon comments on the show's influence and gives us a look inside the writer's notebook.
