Bobby Berk claims to have heard and approved of the person who will take his place on Queer Eye (exclusive)

Fans started to wonder who would take over as the design expert on the Netflix series when Bobby Berk announced in November that he was departing Queer Eye.

On Sunday, Berk revealed to PEOPLE that he now knows with certainty who will succeed him.

"I hear somebody, and I think they're going to be amazing, but I can't say who, because I don't know 100%," he says.

Berk continues, "I wholeheartedly endorse this decision."

"I've known them for years, but I can't say who because it's not my place to do so," he said. "And I have no doubt that they will succeed."

Speaking with PEOPLE at Steven Tyler's Jam for the Janie Grammys viewing party, Berk discussed Janie's Fund—a nonprofit Tyler founded to support girls who have been abused or neglected—and its beneficiaries.

The TV personality said he's "excited" about the future and that he has a lot on his plate, including collaborations with his design firm and both scripted and unscripted projects.

The eighth season of Queer Eye debuted on January 24. Berk declared that he will "absolutely" keep watching the show and remarked of the Fab Five, "They'll always be family."
