'Bob Marley: One Love' Set to Open at $46 Million

Bob Marley: One Love is outperforming expectations at the box office.

The Paramount biography, starring Kingsley Ben-Adir as the late reggae legend, is expected to gross $46.2 million in six days domestically, including $28.3 million over the three-day weekend, according to early projections from The Hollywood Reporter.

That high figure rivals the commencement of other musical biopics, such as Rocketman, which is based on Elton John's life and career.

One Love debuted on Valentine's Day (February 14) and has gotten an excellent A CinemaScore.

The Reinaldo Marcus Green-directed film, which benefits from an ethnically varied audience, grossed a record $14 million from 3,536 screens, the highest midweek launch ever for Valentine's Day, according to the studio.

According to THR, the film grossed an additional $3.9 million on Thursday, bringing its two-day domestic total to $17.9 million.

According to THR, Sony's Madame Web, starring Dakota Johnson, is expected to launch for $24 million in six days, one of the lowest starts for a Marvel character-related film.

However, the film is not regarded a part of Marvel's Cinematic Universe.
