'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' reboot: 'They're still working on that'

According to Business Insider, Dolly Parton says a "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" revival is still in the works after being placed on hold in 2022. 

"They're still working on that," Parton told Business Insider. "They're thinking about bringing it back and revamping it." 

Business Insider reports that Parton, 78, uncredited produced the 1990s Sarah Michelle Geller series and the 1992 Luke Perry and Kristy Swanson picture it's based on. 

A 2009 film version of "Buffy" by director/producer Fran Rubel Kuzui was criticized for not consulting Joss Whedon, according to Hollywood Reporter.  

Deadline reported that Whedon and Monica Owusu-Breen discussed a Black-led "Buffy" relaunch in 2018.

The creator of the impending "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" revival has assured fans that beloved characters would not be replaced.
