#17 Zags WBB defeats LMU.

The Gonzaga Women hosted Loyola Marymount for their second conference game and won 71-47 in the Annual Pink Game.

With Yvonne Ejim still absent owing to her participation in Canada's Olympic Qualifying campaign (spoiler: they made it), the Zags rallied as a team to overcome the Lions, earning a rise in the most current AP Poll to #17.

After a couple of empty possessions for both teams, Kayleigh Truong finally opened the scoring in the first quarter by knocking down a corner three assisted by her sister.

On her next possession, she added another three from the opposite corner.

The following few minutes were slow as LMU played conservatively on offence while attempting to limit the paint on defence, thus the teams headed into the media timeout with the Zags leading 9-6.

The Bulldogs scored six straight points on three-pointers by Bree Salenbien and Kaylynne Truong, but neither side scored in the remaining two minutes of the first, as the Zags lead 15-6.

Despite shooting well from distance (4-7), the Bulldogs struggled to shoot from within the arc (1-6) and appeared sluggish

Ejim's charisma in drawing defenders and creating mismatches for her and others to exploit.
